For my showreel, I wanted to use a piece of music from a band and so I contacted their label and was able to get response.

This was my email to the label;

Hello there,
My name is Dean Pankhurst and I'm student at Ravensbourne college.
The main reason I'm contacting you to ask about using one of Mogwai's songs with in my show reel, Mogwai - Mr Beast- Friend of the night.
I'm hoping that you can help me with getting permission to use the song,

Hi Dean,

As long as it's not for profit then the band are fine with such usage. I should point out that Rock Action did not release Friend of The Night so you might want to get in touch with the label who put the Mr Beast album out, PIAS Recordings.

After this I went on to PIAS Recordings webite to try to discover an email address but only could find a telephone number, so I rung them up to ask for permission and they said it should ok as long as its not for profit.

This is the final title sequence which I intergated my stop-motion with my flash work using Aftereffects and Premier Pro. I think this goes well with our animation with its use of film footage and 2D. Though a way I would improve it is trying to out the transitions between the flash animation and film footage as the colour distorts.

This is one of the reference films I used for the title, though I did want one that burned away but this resulted in failure after nearly half of an can lighter fluid didn't even affect the paper at all.

With the person texture I needed to use reference images to help me in getting the right pose for the character to throw the can into the bin. Overall I think the results turned up quite well.

These textures were the most fun and most difficult to do as I had to do several different textures to show that they are animating. Thge main example of this the fire as it took me a while to do but once it was done I was pleased with the result.

These are a couple of the textures I made using photoshop. When making these I used scanned in images of different types of paper, then used the lasso tool to cut out shape I wanted. Some of the textures I had to use reference photos to help with there creation
